What is a filling?

A filling is another name for a restoration, this is when we aim to try and bring back a tooth that has a hole in it, into a start where you can use it again

What colour will my filling be on the NHS?

Usually this depends on the size and location of the hole, as a rule it will usually be amalgam which is silver at the back and composite which is white at the front. But all this depends what we find in the mouth and what the dentist deems is the best course.

I have teeth missing do I need to fill it?

Usually there is no right or wrong answer, it depends but if teeth space are not fulfilled then teeth can drift i.e. move, and also the force applied to the remaining teeth when eating is increased so you can get more wear on the other teeth
