How do I brush my teeth?
You should brush your teeth at least twice a day, making sure to cover all of the tooth surface of every tooth and doing this in the mirror, this usually takes about 2 mins.
What toothpaste should I use?
Usually this depends on what you wish to achieve but as a minimum for anyone above the age of 6, they should use toothpaste with 1450ppm fl-
What the most important time to clean?
The most important is before bed as saliva reduces while sleeping and hence the food and bacteria will remain around the teeth with no protection.
Why should I clean in-between my teeth?
Simple because your toothbrush cannot usually go in-between the teeth to clean them.
What can I use to clean in-between?
You should floss when you have tight contacts, this is done by pushing between the teeth and going either side of the interdental papilla, touch the gingiva and agitate in an up and down direction, making sure you don’t saw you gums or push down too hard.
When you have bigger space then you can used interdental brushes which is usually pushing in between the gums.
How do I know if I’m getting all the plaque?
This can be done with disclosing tablets, which are done after brushing to show where the person is missing, then they would go back and clean what they have missed.
I have dentures how do I keep them clean?
As a minimum you should take them out at night, clean with soft brush and soap, and leave in water/disinfectant over night.
